My baby is so strange

Have you ever seen a baby:

1. Not willing to sleep between meals, especially during midnight.
2. Can smell where his mother is, once his mother passing by, he will cry in order to get the attention and wait for mommy to hold him.
3. Very energizing, can push mother' s breast away by one hand if he feels full when feeding.
4. Easy to fall asleep if many people are around him and talk loudly. (This explains point 1 why he keeps awake in late night.)
5. Loves to listen 2 CDs, they're The Sound of Music and Musical Mug.

Well, I am talking about Lucas......

Mess up

Yesterday, Lucas peed when he was having bath, the 'fountain' wet me and my mom trousers.

Today, he threw up when I fed him, all over my body.

Thanks!!

Get back to shape

15 days after birth, my weight is 129lbs now, 13 lbs is lost. My target is 110 lbs. Hopefully I could achieve it in late July.

I am working hard on some gentle postpatum exercise, my doc only allowed me to have some stretching workout in these 4-6 weeks. Therefore, breast-feeding becomes the most effective way to control my weight.

Please let me know if you have any idea of losing stone and leave me a comment, thanks.

What're the similarities between babies and clients?

Meal, Poo Poo and Pee Pee

The strengths of Lucas are: drinking milk, poo poo and pee pee. It is very rational, he eats much, and then he poo and pee much.

More than a week after the birth of Lucas, I enjoyed the time with him especially the breast feeding moment, it is joyful to have a close connection between me and him. Although it's hard to breast-feed him in the first few days, now is much better.

Thanks god that I have a helpful domestic maid who helps me to do all the laundary, that's why now I have time to type this piece of diary. You know, being a stay-home mom is a 24x7 work without any annual leave, you should have wit and intelligence to stand any situation (e.g. some babies love to play their poo poo)*. I don't think I've the guts to be a full-time mom...

So far I haven't tried to change his diaper totally by myself, let alone those dirty diapers which meshed with poo poo, maybe I should try some days.

*We rushed to change the diaper when I typed this entry at that point.

Feeding him

We are getting on the right track today, Lucas gets the schedule of diapers change and meals. 3.5 hours a meal (breast feeding), and 8 diapers changed a day.

He had a bath today, thanks to Daphne for her demonstration. We video-recorded the whole process.

Hello pals, I'm back, with a new born life!!

Wow, have received so many blessings from you guys, thanks a lot!!

My little angel, Lucas was born on May 21, weight 7.8 pounds, significantly different from the expected weight my doc estimated.

I've experienced the most difficult moment in my life, not during the delivery (actually it is less painful than I expected), but after the delivery, luckily I could overcome it. Even though I had to go through two operations after giving birth, when I look at Lucas, I still believe I am a lucky girl, and I will have more courage and confident to face any difficulties ahead.

Gosh, I am desperated to wash my hair......

Nothing happened at all

I give up. I don't expect you to come before the due date, but please, don't stay in my tummy forever, my belly can't be stretched infinitely, okay?

BTW, I want to go back to work next week, I don't want to stay at home and suffer from all weird and negative thoughts in my mind.

Sigh... Lucas has yet to come

No sign that Lucas will come in the coming hours....

Sigh... forget it, I don't bother to worry when he will come, he can come whatever he want, just please don't be overdue for 2 weeks......

Ahhhhhh....

Well.... I am still a mother-to-be

Lucas still refuses to come out, maybe my tummy is too comfortable.

To have a better preparation for my labor and delivery, I plan to practise prenatal yoga for 1 hour and go for walk at least 20 minutes everyday. All experienced mothers tells me exercise is very important.

Luckily, I feel that my baby is descending its position, it means that he is also working hard to prepare the birth.

Interesting, my leg cramp relieved a lot after I started my maternity leave, thanks to all stretching I had done in my yoga practice.

Jeff said he had strong intuition I will give birth this Saturday. Let see!~~

Only 9 days to go

Well, only 9 days before the due date, but still have no hint when it will come out. I start to worry if my baby will be overdue... Jesus, I really hate this kind of feeling... Waiting is the most painful stage... Just like you stay at home all night and waiting for a phone call from somebody you fancy.

I feel extremely tired these few days, this morning I didn't get up until 11 am, after my mom phoned me and asked me how come I don't go out to do some exercise... come on, I don't go out for walk is simply because I am tired. The key point of doing exercise for mother-to-be is not to force yourself and listen to your body, isn't it???

I can't deny that I am impatient to almost everything recently, one thing is about my hair. As I couldn't have any hair straightening in the past 9 months, my hair is so curly and uncontrollable now. If I don't tie it into a ponytail, each hair will crawl to various direction and makes me look like a lion. How come I have hard, curly and thick hair at the same time???

What to do over this week?

To draw my attention from the anxiety of giving birth, Jeff suggested me to set a to-do list for this week. Alright, let's start it:

May 15 (Mon)
  • Write blogs (done)
  • Practice yoga (not yet, I was too tired, or too lazy)
  • Go out for walk (ditto)
  • To check my virtual amusement park in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 (I used 'sandbox' mode this time and I have unlimited budget to build my wonderland, it's now having more than 10 attractions, a pool complex, lots of gardens and toilets, the number of visitors now reaches 2000.)
  • Read books (am reading the Princess Diaries 7th vol., almost half. Thanks to the 'nesting instinct', I have prepared another Meg Cabot's book - Size 12 is not fat in case I would finish the former one before my delivery, I still have some amusing to read while I am in hospital.
  • Read magazine (to keep myself abreast to the fashion trend, being a mother-to-be or a mother is not an excuse to be out-dated or old fashion.)

Alright, let's think about what should do in the coming days tonight. You are also welcome to give me any suggestion, thanks!!!!!

Watermelon

Am approaching 39th week, my tummy is as huge as a watermelon.

The closer I approach the due date, the more I feel exhausted and fatigue.

Last night I didn't a have good sleep and had stomachache around 5am. I woke up at 6:30am and fell asleep again at 7:30am. We had already switched on the air con, my body was still like a heater though. The 2nd work up was on 11:30am.

After a cup of yogurt, I feel a bit better now, at least I have energy to crawl to the working table and type this piece of diary.

How are you all guys?

He is still in my tummy

Sigh... I supposed I would be a new mother in this Mother's Day, but he is still staying in my tummy right now.

I feel a bit frustrated and perplexing in these few days. My palms sweat when I thought what about Lucas would come out in the next 24 hours... What I will experience?? Where would Jeff be?? Would I totally freak out?? I cried several times because I was scared.

Samantha sent me a sweet SMS today, she dreamt Lucas is born and can even say hi to her. She also said Lucas is a beautiful baby with a pair of big eyes.

My dearest Prince, when will you come out?
